PROJECT OVERVIEW

Designed to soften the sunlight through the large, south-facing glazed doors, the Brise Soleil is constructed in Aluminium for its lightweight properties and finished in an anthracite powder coat.

FORM

Taking inspiration from the aerofoil, the dividing plates are joined together with welded aluminium bars and supported in nautical fashion using Stainless Steel wire rope and turnbuckles.

STRUCTURE

10mm thick laser cut Aluminium plate forms the aerofoil section, with 15mm solid rods TIG welded between each plate. The structure is made in four pieces for transportation, which are bolted together using Stainless Steel nuts and bolts.

LIGHTING

The Brise Soleil not only diffuses the sunlight in the living area, but it also houses LED spotlights in each section, creating an elliptical pattern in the garden when lit at night.
