OVERVIEW

Created for Abstract artist, Yvonne, Robin’s corner shelving unit carcass was constructed using hardwood plywood with Cedar lipping, which was given the Shou Sugi Ban treatment with a flame and oil.

Robin cut thousands of cuboids of mixed hardwoods, at varying lengths, then attached them onto the external faces of the shelving, before finishing the internal faces of the shelving in Micro-Cement in a range of colours.

New timber brushed to raise the grain, stained and oiled to match a reference sample.
LED lighting, cable tidy runs and socket boxes in the back of the cupboard to power the clients’ hifi equipment.

The running gear for the doors is so slick, move any door and they all move sequentially together - the first travelling double the distance of the second and so on.
Clever little belt drive!
