STEEL TOWER
– JEAN PAUL GAULTIER
We were commissioned by Jean-Paul Gaultier to build a three tier tower for his ‘Fashion Freak Show’ in London, to take on tour around Europe.
STRUCTURE
The 6 meter tall internal structure was constructed in Steel with a satin black Spray finish. Designed and fabricated in 3 sections to enable transportation and assembly on site.
COMPONENTS
Efficient mechanisms and pulley systems were required to maneuver the 3 large screens that needed to pass each on tracks with little overhead clearance. Adjustable height airbag suspension was also required to lift the structure and enable wheeling into position.
SCOPE
Bar with built-in fridge, curved door and Zinc worktop, wall mirrors with curved shelving, wall and door cladding. A unique and distinctive design, the executive box emirates to stand out from the crowd.
DESIGN
Working to the designer’s specification, the counter cabinetry is finished in ‘Liquid metal’, the mirror and wall cladding spray finished in dark blue.
DETAILS
Patinated and aged Zinc worktop fabricated in-house, sitting between the cabinetry and mirror which both have complex curves - made by laminating over formers.
