PROJECT
OVERVIEW

Made out of a number of different materials, the bar at The Gallivant Hotel in Camber Sands was a labour of love, combining a range of processes to give a spectacular outcome.

THE FINER
DETAILS

WINE RACK

Suspended from the ceiling, the Steel wineglass rack features low prongs to hold the glasses, and an LED lit opaque shelf to sit bottles and vases atop.

WATER STATION

Eau de Vie taps set into the Copper worktop, with a hand beaten drip bowl below create a visual ‘end of run’ for the bar whilst providing a functional filling station for carafes and glasses.

BOTTLE STATION

In the centre of the bar sits the bottle station, which is constructed in solid Oak, with welded Brass rails to stop bottle falling over. The central upstand and the top shelf both have inset flush opaque panels that are lit with LED lights.

BAR TOP

The bar top is polished Copper, which has a double return at the back  and sits flush with the Oak bullnose, forming a large square in the centre of the restaurant area. On the serving side of the bar, Stainless steel upstands meet the catering equipment, ensuring best practice for H&S.

WAITER STATION

Solid Oak drawer fronts and cupboard doors sit beside an open menu storage space at the entrance to the bar. Oak drawers sit on industrial runners to take the weight of heavy cutlery, whilst the PA system is housed in the cupboard on the opposite side.

BAR STRUCTURE

Creating the bar structure using predominantly wood, with Oak skirting, rounded corners, bar bullnose and tile detailing, tiles sit between the Oak posts and are lit by LED lights set into the underside of the bar. Facing the private dining room are a chest of cutlery drawers, menu storage and cupboards, all in Oak.
